The East Area is an experimental area at the Proton Synchrotron.
FLOTUS is a new addition to the CLOUD experiment at CERN. By accelerating the oxidation of organic vapours before injecting them into the CLOUD chamber, FLOTUS allows more complex atmospheric phenomena to be studied
With the upgrade works now over, the experiments in the East Area are taking physics measurements again – time for a rewind
Upgraded beam lines will support existing and new collaborations in an environmentally savvy manner in one of CERN’s oldest facilities
Not much more than the name will remain of the old East Area before too long. After LS2, the new PS experiment area will be a hub of technology
Major renovation work will reduce energy consumption and improve the reliability and safety of the experiment hall
Experiments in the East Area received their first beams from the PS last week. Theirs is CERN's first accelerator-based physics since LS1 began
